Be transported back to 1894 Vienna as we explore Brahms’s two Clarinet Sonatas’, Op. 120 and Schumann’s Fantasy Pieces.

On November 9th 1894, Richard Mühlfield and Clara Schumann first played the two great Brahms Clarinet Sonatas along with Schumann’s Fantasiestücke.

Featuring live performance by Paul Harris (clarinet) and Simon Ballard (piano) and insightful discussion, this event retraces the story behind these early readings of Brahms Op. 120, including those with Brahms’ lifelong confidante, Clara Schumann.
